Other Training Resources for Competitive Manufacturing
Unit Standard Aligned

A number of Australian companies developed training resources (mainly trainee manuals) that are aligned to selected unit standards on lower as well as higher levels. Please purchase these directly through the supplier:

Manufacturing Skills Australia, our partner industry training organisation has 7 resources available that feature an assessor guide, mentor/trainer guide, learner guide and learner notes, covering units from levels two (2) to 6 (2).

As per end of 2007 Aspire Training and Consulting published resources, including student workbooks and facilitator guides aligned to 13 unit standards ranging from level 2 (6 units) to 6 (2 units). For further detail see:

As per end of 2007 Workplace Learning Initiatives produced two CDs featuring learner guides, trainer guides and resource sheets. The resources align to competencies of eight unit standards for the lower level Australian qualification in competitive manufacturing. They cater in particular for workers who may need help with reading, writing and/or numeracy tasks. A third CD is due out in late 2008, covering a further 4 unit standards (3 level 4 units). A number of key providers in competitive / lean manufacturing have developed their own resources and map these against the unit standards, including CBI International, Centre for TPM, Improve Group and Lean RT.
