The Consortium will take every opportunity to work jointly with other organisations on projects focussing on productivity improvement.

ITOs Assisting Workplaces to Raise Productivity
The Consortium is involved in a project reference group, started in 2007.

This project is a partnership between the ITF and the Department of Labour to investigate how ITOs can work with firms to directly address firm/workplace productivity issues. It involves a review of existing New Zealand and international work in this area, followed by work with individual enterprises initially in the printing and packaging industry - now expanded to a number of manufacturing industries (textiles, furniture, engineering), . PrintNZ Training is the key ITO involved in this project.

As well as the ITF Secretariat and Department of Labour, the project involves a reference group comprising individuals with relevant experience and networks (including people drawn from some ITOs and alliances that have undertaken work in this area). This group will provide advice and review for the core project team, and help with publicising the outcomes and outputs.
