- Manufacturing Skills Australia - MSA (http://www.cmi.org.au/):
Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA), is addressing the skills needs of over 75,000 manufacturing businesses employing almost one million Australians. We are the national Industry Skills Council which works with Australian Government and the manufacturing industry to ensure that the skills needs of enterprises are being met. As a Skills Council they perform similar duties to the New Zealand Industry Training Organisations. MSA is covering ten different industries in the resources and manufacturing industries, including competitive manufacturing. Its CEO is Bob Paton. - Unions:
The Engineering, Manufacturing and Printing Union (EPMU) has been involved in the CMI Consortium from the onset and has substantially contributed to a better understanding of other productivity improvement initiatives. EPMU and The National Council of Trade Unions (CTU) run a number of similar initiatives, targeting workers and their representatives on worksites.
The CMI Consortium support a cooperative approach between unions (where present) and management staff to increase productivity improvement.
